According to ASTM F2029, a heat seal layer is critical to provide adequate seal strength. Also, other properties of the material including the overall construction and thickness, have an effect on the sealing properties of the material. ASTM F2029 standard is to prepare heat seals using a sealer employing a hot-bar or jaw.

ASTM F2029 Heat Seal Tester

HST-H3 Heat Seal Tester is composed of upper and lower heat sealing jaws. Before the test, preset the values of heat-sealing temperature, pressure, and dwelling time, then place the specimen in between the upper and lower jaws and press the start button. The whole sealing process can be finished automatically.
